Restaurant to Patron: Lesson #1

When the hostess seats you in a particular place, they sat you there for a reason(s). Please remain at the table where you were sat at. If you have a very good reason as to why you'd like to be seated somewhere else, ask your server or hostess nicely and explain why you would like to be somewhere else. If you must know, here are some (but not all) reasons why you were sat where you were. 1) Servers have assigned tables and guests are rotated so that A) each server has roughly the same number of tables as other servers and B) so that a particular server does not get overwhelmed with too many tables at once. 2) Certain tables are maybe being saved for larger groups. 3) A section may be closed.
